What is the football team Bayern Munich called in German?
THIS SPORTING LIFE. The most successful German football team is Bayern München, as it is known in German. If München is Munich, and Bayern is Bavaria, then why is the team's name only half-translated into English as Bayern Munich, and not Bavaria Munich?
