Who was the leader of the Sangha?
Mahakasyapa is also known as “Father of Sangha”. He was the first man to directly preach the teachings and sutras of Lord Buddha. After Lord Buddha attained final Nirvana, he became the leader of Sangha. Ananda was one of the disciples of Lord Buddha who persuaded him to admit women in the Sangha.
